Lufia 2 Shrine

Lufia 2: Rise of the Sinistrals

Lufia was one of the last of the Super Nintendo RPGs. It and Chrono Trigger are widely considered the best of the games made at that time. The games at that time are considered the best for the SNES.

MIDIs
One of the great things about Lufia 2 was it's music. It has the best musical scores I've seen in a game. Even the N64 and PSX backgrounds pale compared to this game and Chrono Trigger. This zip file has my favorites of the Lufia 2 musical selections.

Difficulty
Lufia 2 is fairly hard. The RPG-style fighting is easy, except for leveling up and surviving in the caves and towers. That is, surviving long enough to figure out the puzzles the levels are infested with. A walkthrough is a simple and invaluable tool to have with this game.

My Review
Lufia 2 is a fun and challenging game. Even with the walkthrough, it takes 20+ hours to beat. The graphics are adequate, but after a while, they don't seem to matter. The sound and music are the best I've heard in a game! Last, the play control. The system is simple, effective, and attractive. My only problem with the game is that Natsume didn't do very well with Americanizing the dialogue. The jokes are probably hilarious in Japan, but not here. I give Lufia 2 an 98 out of 100.
